JAMES TRASK Obituary

On June 5, 2013, we lost husband, son, dad, brother, grandpa and friend James "Jim" Albert Trask. Jim grew up in Northeast Kansas City and attended Northeast High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and then returned to the Kansas City area for most of his life where he retired from the Millwright Union. He most recently lived in Linn County, Kan., and Phoenix, Ariz. Jim was predeceased in death by his mother, Betty Heffern and sister, Connie. His father, Charlie Trask, just recently died. He is survived by his wife Eva, sons, Josh and Charles "Chad," sisters, Cheri, Mitzi, Michelle, brothers, Michael and Mitchell, three grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, friends and his dog, Dante. Those of you that knew Jim remember he loved animals, fishing, blues music, Mizzou sports, the Kansas City Royals, and the Kansas City Chiefs. He had an infectious grin and strong opinions. He spent some very happy times riding his Harley. It was his pleasure to tip a cold one at the end of the day! His family hopes that every time you enjoy a Chiefs football game (win or lose) you take a minute to remember Jim. Jim enjoyed the music of John Lennon and we think this famous quote of his honors Jim, "Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears."

I will miss you Dad. You were a true original. I enjoyed our chats about the Chiefs and debates we had about life and religion. You were strong in your convictions and it is an honor to be your son.

Such a grin.
