Jim was full of love, laughter and smiles. I worked with Jim at 2 companies and gladly hired him as you can expect that infectous personality was welcome. Lost touch with him years ago, but have very fond memories of him. Very sad to see him pass way too early and extremely sorry if there was something I could have done. Regardless, he has passed. Rest In Peace.
Maddie, we don't know each other, but god be with you and your family. Let his spirit live through you and go enjoy your life. Make him smile in heaven. Best wishes.

Dear Wittman family. Words cannot express my sadness as i just heard about the loss of Jimmy. He was a friend, a colleague and just an incredible person. Every time i had the opportunity to see or speak with him, there would always be plenty of laughter and smiles. I will truly miss my friend. My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Jim loved each of you so much. We always shared stories about our respective families when catching up, and you could just feel the love and adoration he had for each of you in every story. I am so sorry for your loss. Blessed Be.

Jim and I worked together for years and he was always a great guy to work with and he always made me laugh. I always looked forward to the road trips to visit customers; he was always upbeat and cracking jokes on the trips

Jim was a friend of ours who could always make us laugh. He always took time to stop and say hello when we would see him. I loved hearing soccer stories from his college years...he said he was "awesome" and about his shopping trips with the kids. He was one of a kind and will be missed. Our prayers are with your family. Mr and Mrs Wittman, Jim's children, sister and extended family,
I am very sorry for your loss. I was sad to read about Jim's passing. He was a terrific person with friendliness, humor and warmth built into his fabric. He was a great friend back in high school and into college. So many stories to remember. It has been more than 20 years since I saw him last on a trip to Charlotte. We had a chance to go out, catch up and he had me stay over at his house for the night. We played a game of horse before I left picking up our friendship that started on the basketball court right where it left off. Looking at the photos the warm memories of time with Jim were so strong I felt like he could have jumped right out, sat next to me and we could have picked up again as friends without missing a beat. It was a blessing to have Jim in our lives and I am thankful to have known him. I pray for this difficult time to pass for all of you.

Jim was a friend to all who met and we have a heavy heart knowing we will not hear his laughter. Above all he was 100% dedicated to his children as they were the love of his life, he was so proud of them and bragged about them with great joy. Our deepest condolences to his friends and family and I am sure he will keep a watchful eye with a smile in heaven over his children. He will be sorely missed by all who lives he touched. I came to know Jim in college as pledge brothers for Sigma Chi. Along with Dave Bonifield, the three of us spent much time together back then and for a while after college. I have not seen or spoken to Jim in probably over 25 years and last knew that he had made his life in the Kansas City area. I will always remember Jim for the times we all spent together back in college. He was a great guy, funny and fun to be around. Rest In Peace Jim. You left us too soon.

I lost touch with Jim after high school, but I have many memories of him, his parents, and his sister. I really enjoyed spending the whole day with him, either kicking the ball around in his backyard or playing basketball on his driveway. We would also watch MTV a bit and would devour large pizzas (each of us would get one each for lunch). He and his family made me feel at home and I enjoyed just hanging out with all of them. Of course, his sister, at the time didn't hang out with us too much since she was older and I was mostly there when we were Freshman/Sophomores. I remember all of the Whittman family and I wish I would have gotten to know his immediate family.
My condolences to all of you who knew him and had him in your lives and especially to his family. He will be missed.

I met Jim @ 54th St. in Zona a number of years ago. For quite a long while, he sat by himself quietly, usually at the end of the bar. One afternoon, we started talking, and became acquainted. Soon, it seemed he was talking to so many others, and friendships blossomed all around. He loved to tease me (along with a few others), but I will remember him for his kindness when it came to moving out of his seat, so that people who wanted to sit together could. When asked about his children, he would light up. Many of us prayed for Jim, knowing he was facing health issues. I know those same people will be praying he for his eternal soul, and all who loved him.
