JEAN DEVLING Obituary

Jean Devling, 84, Plattsburg, Mo., passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015. She was born March 8, 1931, to James Henry and Lily Mae (Imes) Belk in Clinton County, Mo. Jean grew up near Plattsburg and graduated from Plattsburg High School. On Dec. 15, 1967, she was united in marriage to L. Hudson Devling. After their marriage they lived in Plattsburg where they made their home. Her husband, Hudson, passed away Sept. 6, 2013. Jean worked for TWA for over 30 years. After her retirement she volunteered for numerous charities. She was also preceded in death by parents, granddaughter, Sydney Green and great- granddaughter, Kandyce Green; brother, James Belk; and sisters, Geraldine Belk and Thelma Loehr. Jean is survived by daughters, Cathy (Doug) Jackson, Mickey Streeter, and Betty Sims (David Haley); six grandchildren, Jason, Justin and Jered Curl, Amber Wickliffe, Cody Streeter and Jessy Lewis; nine great- grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Memorial service 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower, with visitation one hour prior to service. Donations may be made to Northcare Hospice or Gower Convalescent Center.

Jean, sooo many fun memories of yesteryear. I remember the day Hudson bought that old tractor and we decided to take it down the road for a spin. Neither one of us knew how to shift it. Still makes me laugh!! Thanks for the friendship and good times. Love Liz Streeter
