I'm not sure why almost 20 years later I thought about Jeff. He and I worked at Burdines together and on Christmas we would spend the day with kids in detention. We would take them to parrot jungle have lunch, give them gifts. Every one of them were young gentlemen and at the time our hearts were so full. After many years I reconnected with Jeff and we shared fabulous memories. For some reason today I thought of him and I'm thinking of him and his generous heart he is so missed.

Dear Kristen and Comment family-
I am so saddened to hear of your news. I was lucky enough to meet your Dad just that once at Geoffry's when your parents were in town for your graduation from BU. I remember him from just that brief meeting as being a positive force--one that people could only be drawn to. I know how much you love him and I remember so many stories that you told me about him and how proud of him you are. I really can't imagine what you are going through. You all are in my prayers. He seemed to have lived such a great life, filled with selflessness and love; one truly to admire and one to be so very missed. Much Love,
Erin

It was like losing a family member. My heart sank when I heard of his passing. I can't adequately describe the feeling.
Jeff was an unusual person--a person of great energy and drive--passionate about whatever he persued--driven to be involved in every community he lived in--a person who always made a difference.
He was a great producer in business--a financial man with marketing genius. Yet, he was a humble-committed Christian who came into my life over thirty years ago and was a witness for Christ. When I made a faith commitment, Jeff Comment was at the center of it. I will forever be thankful for his Christian witness.
My wife Carol and I will miss his friendship. Our love goes out to you Martha and also to Kristen, and Ryan. Our prayer is that God's grace and time will help you with a new beginning.
Your Friend,
Ron

Marth, Kristin and Ryan,
Thank you, Martha, for letting me know last night about Jeff. Many years we have known each other. A lthough living apart for most of that time, it was always exciting to see Jeff and his family move up in this world, but keeping his Savior first in his life. I will never forget you had prayed for a Christian neighbor in Miami where I was blessed to begin our relationship with each other and our girls. I have been so proud of you all and what you have contributed to those around you. I always looked forward to the annual Christmas picture. I believe I can relay Russell and Karen's sympathy and wish for your comfort. May God grant you peace and comfort in the days ahead. Words cannot express how I have loved you and Jeff over the years though miles apart.
In the love of Christ,
Susan Stanley

Dear Martha, Kristen & Ryan:
I knew Jeff best through my husband. Trent helped with the technical details many of the times Jeff spoke at Heartland Community Church. Jeff might say he wanted a song with this or that thought in it for his message; one suggestion from someone he trusted and the decision was made as far as Jeff was concerned! His belief in others' abilities often surpassed their belief in themselves.
I also work in Heartland's front office. The number of phone calls I received in the days leading up to the funeral and the places people called from - New York, Chicago, L.A. - I wish for you that you could have heard them or that you could have seen the people start showing up before 3:00 for a 4:00 memorial service. Something as unexpected as Jeff's death is throwing the quality of his life into stark relief: just reading through the entries in this guest book tell you about the calibre of man he was - and is. If heaven didn't have teddy bears and Porsches before, I'm sure it will by the time we get there: Jeff will see to it!
With on-going prayers for you,
Jack Thompson

My wife Patricia and I were blessed early in our years here in Miami, which was early in my walk as a Christian, by knowing and then loving Martha and Jeff.
These two dear people have been role models, as they were for us then, of how Christians should walk humbly with the Lord.
Jeff always had that twinkle in his eye that let you know he was glad to be on this planet and totally in love with Jesus while here.
We lost touch with Jeff and Martha, simply because of the constraints of geography, but our mutual friends, Ron and Carol Hanna, now in Mt. Dora, Florida, would tell me how the Comments were doing. Everytime we asked, we heard of Jeff and Martha's service to the Lord and to others.
No one is indispensable, they say, but when it comes to Jeff, I don't believe it. This is a lesser place because this young, vibrant man is gone. Heaven is richer now, but that is why those of us left behind are sorrowful.
Martha, we love you, and our hearts break for you. This was a great man. This is a great man. There will never be another like him.
All our love, Jack and Patricia Thompson (and Johnny, our 12-year-old who never met Jeff but will hear about him today and will meet him one glorious day)

Recently I met Mr. Comment at the animal hospital where I work. He had found a puppy that had been hit by a car. He asked us to examine and treat the pup. He covered all the cost and asked us to find a home for him. We found a wonderful home for the puppy and Mr. Comment came to visit the pup a few times as he was recouperating. Now I see he was such a wonderful man to all beings!! What a loss for the world.

Jeff was an incredible person who
provided a lot of joy for sick children and their families during
a very difficult time in their lives. As Winston Churchill said;
"We make a living by what we get,
but we make a life by what we give."
Those words are very descriptive
of Jeff Comment's committment to
sick children. Thanks Jeff, you
will be missed.

I've never been as impressed with many people in my life as I was with Mr. Comment. He represented an ideal and commitment to God, faithfulness, integrity and honor that few in the business world are able to achieve. He set such a shining example that his star will gleam brightly long after the rest of us have passed on and joined him in God's kingdom. His messages of compassion and kindness when he spoke at Heartland always gave me a warm feeling of hope for our world as a whole. God is surely welcoming Jeffrey with open arms. All my hopes and prayers are with his family...

Special or remarkable are words not strong enough to describe what a wonderful person Jeff was. I was one of the lucky people to be able to experience the joy and hope that he spread to so many families as he visited children in hospitals as Santa. The happiness he brought my brother, Jonathan, the day he brought him a bear in the hospital is something our family will be able to cherish forever. Jeff was truly a gift to every heart he touched!!

Our first visit to Heartland Christian Church included Jeff giving the message. That was 2 years ago and we have been going ever since. We were impressed with him, his tone and his conviction. Later my wife bought me "My Utmost for His Highest". It has been an inspiration and I have Jeff to thank for that. I left Jeff a message to get his input on a new business I was starting. We had never met. I'm sure it is no surprise to you but it was a surprise to me, he called me back and we talked on the phone. I was so impressed that a busy guy like Jeff, took the time to call me. Unfortunately, we never really got to know one another , but he touched my life! I will think of Jeff everytime I read my devotional. We pray for your family and we hurt for your loss. God Bless...

Andy not only had the privilage to work for the tremendous company like Helzberg but he also saw the sincere Christian man that Jeff could be at church - he was always so very nice and encouraging to Andy.
