Juanita McMahon Juanita McMahon, 97, of Kansas City, KS, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11 at First Southern Baptist Church, 8127 Ella Avenue, Kansas City, KS with the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to her church. Juanita was born September 22, 1920 in Palmer, TX but spent most of her life in Kansas City, KS. To know Juanita was to love her and throughout her life, Juanita embodied what it meant to be a generous and selfless person. First and foremost, she was dedicated to family, personal friends, her church family at First Southern Baptist Church and was of service to her community for many years. She was a member of Women's Mission Union and Red Hats Society. In addition to her need for caring for others, she made time for a multitude of talents, including being an avid gardener and an excellent cook. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, community volunteer and friend who loved to entertain. She enjoyed travelling with her family throughout the United States and for a time enjoyed many summer months at the Lake of the Ozarks. Juanita is preceded in death by her first husband, Ivo Mann who passed in 1947, her husband James McMahon and her eldest daughter, Linda Verby. She is survived by her children Richard Mann of Plano, TX; Charlene Ramsey of Lenexa, KS; Susan White of Kansas City, KS; and Jim McMahon of Lenexa, KS and her niece, Connie Gibson of Kansas City, KS. She will be missed tremendously by her 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchilden, numerous extended family and devoted friends.
