Julia Ploeger Obituary

Julia J. "Judy" Ploeger, 77, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at St. Mary's Manor. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, May 1 at Webb-Freer Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2 in the chapel. Internment will follow in Blue Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Julia was born on February 2, 1929, in Independence, MO, to Wesley and Edith (Staley) Owens. She was the coowner and operator of Acutek. Julia was Methodist by faith and a member of the Women's Civic Club, Garden Club and the Homemaker Extension Club. Julia was a past PTA president, former Girl and Boy Scout Leader and the first chairman of the Blue Springs Fall Fun Festival. She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, in 1995; a son, Kent Ploeger and son-in-laws Ronald Wagener and James Keehler. Survivors include daughters Deborah Wagener of Blue Springs, MO, Virginia Tyler and Sterling of Bates City, MO, Rebecca Snow-Cessor of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren Douglas Keehler and wife Karen, Kenneth Keehler, Ryan Wagener and wife Amy, Kevin Wagener and wife Jennifer and Maggie Jo Snow; and six great-grandchildren. My late husband, Bobby and I lived caddie corner from Mr & Mrs Ploeger for 20 years on Morningside Drive. She was fun to have talks with. I'm sure she will be missed by her family and friends.
