Wow! I am still stunned by the news of her passing! I knew Julie at San Vito AS Italy as a solar analyst back in the early1990s. She was such a kind, intelligent, giving, and great Air Force officer and commander!
Julie was very competitive and a great runner. We had so many gatherings as a solar observatory weather group. No one did a better job at recognizing others for their accomplishments than she did. Julie had a heart of gold and was very humble about all her achievements in and out of the military.
I got to know her husband, Alex, when he was working at San Vito in the communications sector. Julie married a good, kind man! I knew Andrew and Josh as they were about my kids age at San Vito.
My heart and prayers go out to Alex, the 4 sons, family, and friends who knew Julie! I will have a Mass said for Julie.
One final thought, as a retired AF Master Sergeant, I just want to say thank you Julie for your service in the Air Force and National Weather Service! You were a true patriot and I salute you! May God grant you peace and happiness.

I knew Julie from working the elections with her as an election judge in Cass County. Julie was such a great person. I loved to hear all of her great life stories and experiences she´d had. Her involvement with the community and her devotion was exceptional. Julie will be greatly missed by everyone.
