As a 17 year old exchange student I met Kathy for the first time. She was an open, loving, laughing and caring woman. She also was there when times got rough and even when I misbehaved as an adolescent.
In short: it always felt like homecoming being with her.
I shortly stayed at her house in KC ( January 1978) Sue and Heli were there too and made it feel like a real family.
I will never forget you Kathy!

Kathy, Thanks you for all the good memories. I also was one of the Exchange students she helped out (1977). She let me stay at her house for a while untill She found a new family for me.
She always made us laugh, was generous and genuine.

I am saddened to learn of Kathy's passing and want to send condolences to her family and friends. Though it has been many years since I had the chance to spend time with Kathy, my memories of her are still as vivid as her personality. After reading of her many interests, accomplishments, loving friends--and seeing the familiar mischief in the smile of her photo--I'm convinced she has left a legacy of joy throughout her life...and probably taken it with her to heaven! She will be missed, but remembered with happy memories.

Kathy was our wonderful American friend for quarter of a century, a warm and loving person, without whom life will be so much emptier. Thank you for sharing your life with us in Finland.

The family of Elouise Siler would like to offer their condolences - Elouise and Kathy were great friends (and ornery friends). I remember hearing Grandma speak of Kathy many times during her life as having a special heart and a keen sense of humor.
