Loy Edge Obituary

Overland Park, Kansas - Loy L. Edge III, 69, passed away January 9, 2025. He was the son of L.L. Edge II and Catherine "Kitty" Edge. Loy was a renaissance man, with a career spanning advertising, the restaurant business, acting, and business consulting. He was an artist, musician, podcaster, and raconteur, and was a man with a myriad of friends.
He devoted himself to caregiving for his mother in her later years, a task he called the greatest blessing of his life.
Loy was a dedicated member of Saint Rose Philippine Duchesne Catholic Church.
A funeral Mass for Loy will be held at Saint Rose Philippine Duchesne Catholic Church, 5035 Rainbow Boulevard, Westwood, KS 66205-2063 at 11:45 a.m. on March 14, 2025. The burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery at 8300 Quivira Road, Lenexa, Kansas, with a Celebration of Loy starting at 4:00 p.m. at Eggtc, 5107 Main Street, Kansas City, MO 64112.

Loy was such a unique and great guy. I first experienced his hilarious antics in high school. But I´m sure other people who knew him in his early childhood would say that he was always a funny and entertaining guy. He was the most talented person I have ever met. He could entertain through his music, voice impressions, storytelling, art, acting, and of course, giving his perspective on various aspects of life. Loy was very smart, and in addition to his great ability to entertain people he was also extremely thoughtful and informative. I consider myself fortunate to have known Loy and I´m sure he will be missed by many. Rest in peace Loy.
