MARIE MERTENSMEYER Obituary

Marie A. Mertensmeyer, 100, of John Knox Village, Lee's Summit, MO and formerly of Norborne, MO passed away April 12, 2013 at Wilshire at Lakewood Care Center. Mrs. Mertensmeyer was born November 29, 1912 in Koeltztown, MO, the daughter of Catherine (Winkelmann) and Gottfried Melies. On May 26, 1936 she married Edwin H. Mertensmeyer. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974, daughter Susan Hansen and granddaughter Rachel Hansen, great grandson Nathan Bouquet, son-in-law Ted Hoppe, brothers Alfred Melies, Joe Melies and Robert Melies, and sisters Agnes Weaver and Rose Boland. She is survived by five daughters, Louise (William) Stedem of Lee's Summit, MO, Betty Childers of Camdenton, MO, Ann Hoppe of Merriam KS, Joan (Rick) Butler of Lexington, MO and Carol Mertensmeyer (Mark Ryan) of Columbia, MO; three sons, Edwin Eugene Mertensmeyer of Independence, MO, Dan (Suzanne) Mertensmeyer of Overland Park, KS, and John Mertensmeyer of Kansas City, MO, twenty-two grandchildren and 37great grandchildren. Service Sat, April 20, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norborne, MO. Visitation 10am. Mass 11am. Burial Sacred Heart Cemetery, Norborne.
