Mark Gomez Obituary

Mark Anthony Gomez, 47 of Kansas City, Mo died Friday, March 7, 2008 at Research Medical Center. A Celebration of Mark's Life will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 14 at the McGilley Midtown Chapel. Inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation 6-7 p.m. Friday at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the AIDS Foundation. Mark was born March 31, 1959 in Kansas City, MO and was the son of Nicholas V. and Cruz M. (Lopez) Gomez. He was a cook and worked for the Apple Market Deli for 15 years and most recently for Marsh's Sunfresh Deli the past 5 years. He was preceded in death by parents, three brothers, Vincent Gomez, Agustine Gomez and Michael Gomez and one sister, Rose Schultz. Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Ruben Gomez of Kansas City, MO; three sisters, Hope Gonzalez, Angelina Gomez Aviles and Josephine Brown; his life partner, Dan Peters and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. always said hello to me, even after years of not seeing one another. I saw him last a few months ago, he greeted me with a smile, and that will be what I will always remember.
