Mylan E. Ross

Mylan Ross, 89, Overland Park, Kansas, died Monday, March 9, 2009 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. A graveside service will be held in Bancroft, NE. Mylan was born March 6, 1920, in Rosalie, NE to Ura and Eva Copple Ross. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with a BS in Agriculture. Mylan joined the US Army during WW II as a Lieutenant and served five years, honorably discharged as a Lieutenant Colonel. Following his military service, he graduated from the University of Chicago with a MBA and in 1946, he married Helen Travis. He was a manager of agricultural companies for many years and retired from AgrPro Biosciences in 1985. His hobbies included art and gardening. He was a Master Gardener, a member of the Shrine and a member of the Johnson County Senior Arts Council. Mylan was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Burr Ross. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen (Mickey) Ross, daughter and son- in-law, Melanie and Bill Conrick, Overland Park, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Charlene Ross, Shawnee, two grandsons, Brian Conrick and Shane Eckley, two great-granddaughters and two sisters, Margaret Connealy and Donna Lamb, both of Lincoln, NE.
