NANCY WENECK Obituary

Nancy Ann Weneck, 68, of Overland Park, Ks. passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born at Menorah Medical Center, in Kansas City, Mo., on January 10, 1944, to Sadie and Herman Billings. With the passing of her mother at a young age, Nancy was raised by her dear Aunt, Rose Gladstone. Nancy was a dedicated educator, teaching at elementary through college levels. It was her creative talents, combined with her love of flowers and greenery, which fueled a wonderful career in floral design later in her life. Above all, Nancy was a devoted and loving wife of 42 years to her beloved husband, Charles "Buddy" Weneck, and incredible mother to her three children, Spencer (Dana) Weneck, Sally (Brennan) Hensley, and Todd (Lindsay) Weneck, and doting grandmother to her seven grandchildren, Jackson, Ava, Reagan, Cooper, Zoe, Madeleine, and Grant. Nancy lived life with great vigor, and awareness. She was passionate in her support of numerous charitable and civic endeavors. Our lives have been forever enriched by Nancy's welcoming smile and embrace, cultured intellect, sharp wit, and her spirited sense of humor. We are eternally grateful of the values, courage, and principles she instilled in all who knew her. To her family and friends, Nancy will be greatly missed, and forever loved. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 23, at Congregation Beth Torah, 6100 W. 127th Street, Overland Park, Ks., 66209. Interment will follow in the Congregation Beth Torah Section in Mount Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road. In lieu of flowers, we would kindly request donations be made to Kansas City Hospice House & Palliative Care, 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 100, Kansas City, Mo., 64114 and Congregation Beth Torah. My heart goes out to you, the kids and the grand kids. Nancy and you created and raised a lovely family. All of you will have treasured memories that will live on for the rest of all your lives. These memories will keep Nancy a part of your daily lives forever. Nancy was a warm caring, family person; wife, mom and grandmother. Nancy died knowing the family she helped create and raise will be close, look after each other and stick together. Nancy is at peace now and all of you need to find peace with great memories of a great woman that loved her family and friends and who will be remembered by everyone.
Love you all

Buddy, Spencer, Todd and my sweet Sally, my heart is so heavy. Nancy's love of life, family and friends was so much of who she was. We loved and valued our friendship. So many laughs, so many good times. She has a beautiful legacy of three loving children and 7 adorable grand children. I will miss that smile and her impish giggle.
Remember always that she is in all of you and you reflect the person she was. Embrace your memories of a life well lived, they are to be cherished. If there is anything we can do for you, let us know.
Love, Sharon and Rich
