Phyllis was a really neat lady. I met her through her love of the cats - something we shared. I lived at Cloverset, across the street from Grand Court and spent many an hour visiting with Phyllis while we fed the crew. My favorite memory of her is the day we were trying to trap Sugar for neuter. I got a call saying I needed to get up the street because we had him and I should pick him up and take him to the vet. I jump in the car, drive up the top of the hill at the Wornall entrance, and there is Phyllis holding this semi-wild cat in her arms like a baby. Running a close second is the day she decided to adopt Baby - a kitten that cared about no human except Phyllis. As she became unable to go out to feed the cats she still found a way to stay in contact. Blackie would come into the courtyard, sit and wait for Phyllis to toss treats off her balcony. She always worried what would happen to the cats if all of us moved and I know she was glad I took so many with me when I moved to the country.
I am so sorry for your loss. She was a joy to be around, with a huge heart, creativity, and an amazing energy and love of life. I was lucky to have known her.

John and Phyllis,
Phyllis, we just wanted to extend my condolences on your Mother's passing. It sounds as though she had a good, long life. We should all be so lucky. May she rest in peace.
