ROBERT WAYNE PROFFITT

1964 - 2015

Robert Wayne Proffitt, 50, passed unexpectedly on June 21, 2015. "Rob" was born June 27, 1964, in North Kansas City, MO, to parents Larry Wayne and Gloria (Reynolds) Proffitt. Rob grew up in Liberty, MO, and attended Manor Hill Elementary, Liberty Junior High and Liberty Senior High School, graduating in 1982. He had a Bachelor's degree in Business from William Jewell College, Liberty, MO. He was owner and operator of Rob Proffitt Construction and built two homes for his family. He was gifted in working with his hands and enjoyed producing quality work. Rob was a United Methodist and member of the NRA. He enjoyed fishing, boating and eagerly looked forward to deer season each fall. Rob showed his love for all sports by coaching youth baseball, football and softball. He especially enjoyed attending his son's and daughter's sports. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry. He is survived by son, Ryan and daughter, Dani of Parkville, MO; mother, Gloria Proffitt; brother, Chris Proffitt; and nephews, Craig and Nathan Proffitt of Liberty, MO. Rob also leaves his grandfather, Cecil Grove of Sedalia, MO. A memorial celebration will be held Sunday, July 12, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 N. State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Visitation at 2 p.m. followed by a time of remembrance. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Rob's memory to the Missouri Department of Conservation.
