ROBERT "BOB" ROACH

1952 - 2016

Robert "Bob" Roach, 64, of Independence, Mo., peacefully passed away at Research Medical Center with his family by his side on Friday, October 7, 2016. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Sat., Nov. 5, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee's Summit Road, Independence, MO 64055. Visitation 7 to 9 p.m. Fri., Nov. 4, at McGilley & Sheil Chapel, with rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. Bob was born June 10, 1952, in St. Louis County, Mo., to Charles and Leona (Buening) Roach. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1974 with a BSEE and later earned a MSEE. Bob started his career with KCPL in 1975, retiring in 2006 as a Supervisor - System Protection and Relay. He then went to work for Burns and McDonnell for the next 10 years as a Senior Electrical Engineer. Bob was a lifelong member of the Sigma Tau Gamma - Alpha Omega Chapter and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. Bob was preceded in death by father, Charles. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Susan; their sons, Dr. Michael Roach and John Roach; granddaughter, Elizabeth Roach; mother, Leona Roach and his sister, Sue Hoette. In lieu of flowers the family suggests Bob's Fraternity Brothers make a contribution to the present building fund and all other friends make a memorial contribution in Bob's name to their favorite charity.
