Grant was my biological half brother. Sadly I only got to know him for a short time... I regret that we didn´t have more time.

I worked with Grant for about one year in 2017. Grant and I never met, but we talked on the phone almost every day. I always appreciated my conversations with Grant, and remember him as a sharp, professional, hard working man. I did not know Grant well, but I always enjoyed and appreciated my conversations with him. I was saddened to hear of his son, and I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing.

I became a close friend to Grants Aunt Stephanie in junior high school, and became friends with Grants mother, Sue, who was two years older, in high school. In 1969, I took the same path as Sue and Mike to the University of Illinois in Champaign, where Grant was born. I remember him as an adorable tow-head, full of wonder, imagination, and enough energy to out last us all. It was obvious at a young age that Grant was extremely bright, with the wit and guile to win over just about anyone. I did not see Grant often after college, but was kept updated by his mother, from whom I never heard a harsh word about her son. In my memory, I see Grant as an angelic little boy, putting a smile on his mothers face. That image is eternal, and I believe that is the moment that transcends all, the space they now occupy together, with brilliant smiles and endless love. My prayers are with Sue and Grants family: may you feel the embrace of their love and allow it to live happily in your hearts.
