Robert Knott Obituary

Robert Arlen Knott
Born: August 18, 1942 in St. Charles, IL
Died: March 14, 2025 in Geneva, IL
Robert "Bob" Arlen Knott, 82, of Geneva, Illinois passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025. The family will have a private funeral Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church in St. Charles and a celebration of life party at Greenfields of Geneva at a later date.
Bob was born on August 18, 1942 in St. Charles, son of Olaf Clayton Knott and Kathryn Marie Collins. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Judith "Judie" Buller, on June 8, 1963 at St. Patrick's. Bob and Judie shared a beautiful love story that only intensified throughout their 61-year marriage.
Bob graduated from St Charles High School (1960) and Aurora College (1964), and enjoyed his 37-year career as a sales manager at Burgess-Norton. He networked and golfed with clients right up until his retirement at 55 when he continued to golf daily at Mill Creek and worked there as a ranger. Bob enjoyed volunteering at Delnor hospital when he wasn't on the golf course. He loved long walks and watching sports from his favorite recliner. Bob seized every day and never missed an opportunity to bring joy to others. A friend to all, Bob was a larger-than-life people-person who will be remembered for his vibrant story-telling.
Bob is survived by his dedicated wife, Judie; sisters Kathy and Jane; beloved grandsons Ryan, Jackson, and Samuel; and two great-grandchildren Audrey and Robert Joseph. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Jim; and sons Thomas and Daniel.
The family appreciates the care provided by the nurses and staff at Greenfields of Geneva and JourneyCare hospice in Barrington.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Mr. Knott's passing. I grew up with both Tom and Dan and spent many, many days at the Knott house. Mr. and Mrs. Knott were always kind enough to put up with my shenanigans as a teenager. My heart goes out to the entire family during this difficult time.

So sad to hear this about "Piney" (sp?). Was my catcher for several years. Great guy! Prayers for the family.

I was a friend of his sons, Dan and Tom. I spent much time at the Knott home in high school through my early twenties. Watching football with Mr. Knott was a blast! He was passionate to say the least, and his excited utterances were worth the visit alone. I spent hours talking to him and his lovely wife, Judy. They were very nice not to kick me out. Unfortunately, the last times I saw him were at both son's memorial services. I don't think they recognized me because I've been a Texas lawyer for about thirty years and I hadn't seen any of the family over that time. Mr. Knott was very friendly while I shared my condolences with the family in Wisconsin. My heart goes out to Mrs. Knott (well, both Judy and Kathy) and their families. Mr. Knott led a great family and I believe he's been greeted by Tom and Dan in Paradise. Is there golf in heaven? Please accept my deepest condolences. And God bless the Knott family!
