Ivy C. Knott

December 13, 1926 – February 3, 2026

Ivy C. Knott, a longtime resident of Walnut Creek, California, and a beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt, went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2026, at the age of 99.

She is survived by her son, Peter Knott (and his spouse, Chela Knott); her grandchildren, Jacob and Abby, whom she adored; her niece, Lynn Clark, nephews Scott Jackson and Mike McKay.

Aside from devotion to family, Ivy's great love and passion was teaching in elementary school. She found her calling as a special education teacher, earned her master's degree and served for many years as a special education teaching consultant for the Mt Diablo USD. After retiring, she continued to advocate for children with special needs in the community, and a scholarship was established in her honor at Cottey College. She possessed a servant's heart and was known for her love and dedication to her family, her friends, and her students.

Ivy was an excellent pianist and loved music and singing. She enjoyed traveling abroad and was an amazing correspondent. She had great faith in her Lord Jesus Christ and set a lasting example through a life of service to those around her. All who benefited from her love and care will miss her terribly.

Ivy will be laid to rest at Oakmont Memorial in a private ceremony, next to her beloved sister, Gloria, and in sight of Mt. Diablo-her mountain.

"I will lift mine eyes up to the mountains, from whence cometh my help." (Psalm 121:1)
