William Marsh Obituary

ST. CHARLES – William Charles Marsh, 82, of St. Charles, passed away peacefully Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Rosewood Care Center in St. Charles.

He was born Oct. 24, 1930, in St. Paul, Minn., the son of Harold L. and Katherine E. (nee Lindberg) Marsh. He was united in marriage to Betty Ann Robinson.

Bill served for 13 years in the United States Navy as a pilot and "Hurricane Hunter." He was employed with United Airlines for 25 years as a pilot and flight manager.

He is survived by his children, Beth A. Sells of St. Charles, Dr. Robert L. (Dr. Susan) Marsh of Manassas, Va., Thomas B. Marsh of Sycamore and James A. Marsh of Vashon, Wash.; four grandchildren, Hunter Marsh, Kirk Sells and Madison and Palmer Marsh; and brother, Dr. Wallace S. (Deborah) Marsh of Lompoc, Calif.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Ann; sister, Elaine; twin brother, Ed; and two younger brothers, Earl and Leslie Marsh.

A memorial visitation will be from 11 a.m. until noon Sunday, Nov. 18, at Moss-Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St. (three blocks west of the river and one block south of Route 64) in St. Charles. A memorial service will follow the visitation at noon at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
