Adam McBride

Former Cozad resident, 21

LINCOLN - Adam R. McBride, 21, of Lincoln, formerly of Cozad, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, in Lincoln.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Cozad with the Rev. Doug Smith officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery south of Cozad.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.

He was born June 30, 1989, in Cozad to Kurt and Barbara (Spangler) McBride.

Survivors include his parents, Kurt McBride and his wife, Luann, and Barb Kinnan and her husband, Bill, all of Cozad; brother, Brian McBride of Syracuse, N.Y.; stepbrothers, Adam Pedersen and his wife, Kacey, of Lincoln and Austin Pedersen and his wife, Sarah, of Washington, D.C.; stepsister, Sarah Pedersen of Lincoln; nephew, Max Pedersen; paternal grandparents, Robert and Erma McBride of Kearney; maternal grandparents, Alan and Karen Spangler of Weeping Water; and a host of other relatives and good friends.

Adam graduated from Cozad High School in 2008 and continued his education at the Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie, where he graduated at the top of his class. In July 2009, Adam moved to Lincoln where he worked at Midwest Designs in steel fabrication.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cozad.

Adam had a special love for the outdoors. He enjoyed jumping and racing four-wheelers and hunting. In his free time, he enjoyed hanging out with his friends, lifting weights, installing car stereos and tinted windows for friends and working on muscle cars. Adam loved his job and listening to music. He will be remembered for his smile, laughter and his ability to make others laugh.

He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Jennifer Marie McBride, and his great-grandparents.

A memorial has been established.
