Diane Kay Drabek
Diane Drabek, 75 of Kearney passed away Monday, November 6, 2023 at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2023 at First Lutheran Church in Kearney with Rev. Dr. Rick Carlson officiating. Interment will follow at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.
Diane Kay Drabek was born July 7, 1948 in Oelwein, Iowa to Ernest and Loretta (Schroeder) Alber. She graduated high school from Doniphan High School. Diane was united in marriage to Dennis Drabek on November 19, 1968 in Grand Island, NE.
Diane was a long-time assistant manager of Grenoble Apartments. She also worked for Horizon Designs and Coleman's and several other local businesses. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, gardening, dancing, and shopping. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and also attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Dena Harshbarger and spouse, Kyle of Kearney, Dawn Dulitz of Kearney; step-daughter, Denise Stubbs and spouse, Scott, of Lincoln, 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; fiancé, Dan Steinhauser of Kearney; sisters, Gloria Fey of Great Falls, Montana and Barb Montgomery of Marion, Iowa; brother, Allen Alber and significant other, Judy Sanderson of Independence, Iowa; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; parents; sister, Darlene Alber; and brother, Gary Alber.
