Josie Moreno Obituary

LINCOLN - Josie Moreno, 80, of Lincoln, formerly of Kearney, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021, at Ambassador Health of Lincoln.
Memorial services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral Chapel with Father Joe Hannappel officiating.

Josie was born Feb. 14, 1941, in Sabinas Hidalgo, Mexico, to Trigio and Ignacia (Inclan) Rodriguez. The family moved to Texas and then to Kearney. She graduated from Kearney High School in 1959.
Josie married Antonio Moreno on June 6, 1961, at Kearney. She worked at Eaton in Kearney until retiring in 2003.
Josie loved spending time with her family and friends, reading, watching Husker football, listening to music, playing slot machines and having dogs. She was very generous and would help anyone in need.
Survivors include her sons, John David Moreno and Antonio Moreno; grandson, Rusty Moreno; granddaughters, Mariah Rodriguez and Mikayla Moreno; brothers, Trigio Rodriguez, Jonas Rodriguez, Xavier Rodriguez, Jerry Rodriguez and Johnny Rodriguez; sister, Henrietta Vavra; sister-in-laws, cousins, nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Mario Rodriguez; and sister, Thelma Carranza.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated.
