Maggy (Andries) Killion was born May 1st, 1956 in Aarschot, Belgium. She was the only child of Jaak and Elza (Geens) Andries. She graduated high school, then attended a two-year travel and tourism school. After that she started to work for Top Tours Travel Agency in 1979. She met Loren Killion who just happened to move into the apartment above her travel agency office. Maggy and Loren were engaged in 1982 in Australia where Loren was then playing basketball. They were married later that year in Aarschot, Belgium. The couple then moved to Nebraska. To this union they had two children, Kimberly and Keith. They were born only 13 months apart, which was a blessing to keep Maggy busy so she wouldn't get too home sick. Maggy then started working at a daycare with the kids, then she went to work at Northeast grade school as a teacher para. After many years there she moved to Sunrise Middle School until she retired in 2013.
Maggy and Loren were able to enjoy much time traveling as Loren was still playing in senior basketball leagues. They made many trips to Florida and Utah. They also traveled to tournaments in Canada, Italy, Finland, Australia and many trips back to her beloved Belgium.
Maggy's biggest joy in her life was her family. She loved her children, children-in-law and especially her grandchildren, Haisley, Briley and Kai. Just recently the whole family spent time together at the NCAA Basketball Tournament in Omaha where they made more family memories. In 1983 and the early years of her living in Nebraska it was difficult for her to stay in touch with her family back in Belgium because of no cell phones and internet. But she and the children were able to go back to Belgium every other year in the summer to enjoy her family there. Then the other years her parents could come to Nebraska to visit. Maggy used to tell people she was Loren's souvenir, the kind you couldn't hang on the wall. Even though for many of us her life seems to be cut short, but Loren and her had 41.5 years of a great marriage. She will be dearly missed by us all.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Loren of Kearney; children, Kimberly (Clint) McQuiston and their children, Haisley and Briley of Oxford, Keith (Jenny) Killion and their child, Kai of Kearney; aunt, Josephine Mertens of Belgium; brothers-in-law, Laverne (LeAnne) Killion of Kearney, Galen (Deb) Killion of Plum Creek, Gilbert Killion of Central City; as well as many cousins, nephews, and nieces from both sides of the ocean.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jaak and Elza, parents-in-law, Dwayne and Betty Killion, and infant grandsons, Marek and Jagger Killion.

Dear Loren,
Don and I are devastated by your loss of Maggy.
We are so very sorry that we were unable to get together in Florida this past winter.....however, I was not in a position to do anything at that time! I was in extreme pain with my back and was bedfast for quite awhile! We regret so badly that we didn't get to visit then! We send our love and continued prayers for you and your entire family!
