Kearney resident, 73

KEARNEY - Margie Ann Schmitz, 73, of Kearney died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Mount Carmel Home Keens Memorial.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Kearney with the Rev. Paul Colling officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Oconto.

Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. today at the church with a vigil prayer service at 5 p.m.

O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home of Kearney is in charge of arrangements.

She was born Oct. 8, 1939, in Milford, Kan., to Arnold and Susanna (Gould) Dobbins.

On Nov. 14, 1964, she married Francis J. Schmitz. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons, Joseph Schmitz and Franklin Schmitz and his wife, Sunny, all of Kearney; daughters, Ann Schmitz of Kearney and Sheila Piscopo and her husband, Michael, of Green Bay, Wis.; eight grandchildren; and sisters, Wilma Juker of Washington and Patsy Snethen of Lexington.

She grew up on a ranch near Anselmo, received her education from Anselmo High School and graduated in 1958.

She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Margie enjoyed traveling, going to museums and antiques.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a son, James Lee Schmitz.

Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
