Nancy K. Rupp
Nancy K. Rupp, 70, passed away on January 11, 2024, at Tiffany Square Care Center in Grand Island.
Per Nancy's wishes of cremation, no services will be held. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. She requested memorials to be donated to breast cancer survivors. Nancy was born in McCook, NE on January 12, 1953 to Lloyd and Janet Rupp. She attended McCook Senior High and graduated in 1971. She then attended McCook Junior College obtaining her associates degree before continuing her education at The University of Nebraska Lincoln, graduating in 1975 with a bachelor's degree in education. She continued her education with a Masters of Education from Kearney State in 1989.
Nancy had a lifelong dedication to education and children. She taught first grade at One-R Northwest Public Schools in Grand Island, NE for 37 years. She participated in many activities throughout her career including coaching volleyball, cheerleading, keeping scorebook for various sports and compiling the year end memory book. She enjoyed the variety of working various jobs during the summer. She held various offices and memberships throughout her years as the treasurer of Tri Education Association, treasurer of the Northwest Teacher's Association, Phi Theta Kappa, Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Delta Kappa.
Nancy also had a love of everything crafts and sharing those various crafts with kids and adults. Her family was important to her, and she loved following all the activities of all her family.
She is survived by her family; brother, Gary (Trish) Rupp of Kearney; nephew, Kyle (Debra) Rupp of Kearney; niece, Kristina (Andrew) Spracklin of Kearney; lifelong friends, Michael and Susan Plautz of Ravenna; great nephews, Colin and Drew Spracklin, Kaden Rupp; great nieces, Kynlee, Ember and Adalyn Rupp.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Janet and Lloyd Rupp of McCook.

So sorry for the loss of Nancy. Our son Brett was taught by her in 1996. The mother goose plays were the best! Rest in peace Nancy.

When I was in high school at GINW, I worked at 1R in the afternoons helping out some teachers. I so enjoyed working with "Miss Rupp" in her classroom. Hugs and prayers to the family.
