Phyllis L. Mauler, 92, of Kearney, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025, at St. Luke's Good Samaritan Home in Kearney.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2025, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Kearney. Interment will follow at Kearney Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Kearney Rescue Cats or to the family for future designation.

Phyllis was born February 7, 1933, in Kearney, Neb., to Leo and Edith (Boyd) Erpelding. She was raised in the Gibbon area and attended Gibbon High School, graduating in 1950. Phyllis later earned her teaching certificate from Kearney State Teachers College. On January 27, 1951, Phyllis was united in marriage to Robert "Don" Mauler. This union was blessed with 5 children, Doug, Brenda, Nadine, Debra and Dawn. Phyllis worked at George Motor Company, Christmas City Café, Whitney Sand and Gravel, Young Moderns, Rubens and Ruhters, Bryant School, Kearney Catholic High School, KCC Feeders, and Funshine Shop.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Brenda and Terry Towery of Kearney, Nadine Tillemans; and longtime friend, Lori Erickson of Holdrege; Debra and Bryon Brooks, and Dawn and Dan Doughty, all of Kearney; grandchildren, Jeff, Tim, Brandy, Adam, Amy, Joey, Jeremy, Crystal, Janis, Dana, Mary and Charlie; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Diana (John) Wubbenhorst; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Special thanks to Amber at St. Luke's for her care and friendship over the years.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert "Don" Mauler; son, Doug Mauler; brother, Robert; sister, Janis; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Julius and Tecla Mauler.
