Edward Russell Mauler, Jr., 82, of Westminster, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025 at BridgingLife Dove House.
Born August 25, 1942, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Edward Russell Mauler, Sr., and Virginia Lee (Marshall) Mauler. He was the loving husband of Sherry E. Mauler, his wife of 60 years.
Edward spent his working career as a firefighter and retired from the Baltimore City Fire Department after 32 years. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a member of Church of the Open Door in Westminster for over 30 years.
In his younger years, Edward enjoyed taking walks and hiking with his wife. He loved train gardens. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children Edward R. Mauler, III and wife Michele, Robert H. Mauler and Scott A. Mauler, all of Westminster; grandchildren Christina Keyser and husband Keith of Florida, Robert H. Mauler, Jr., of Chambersburg, PA, Ryan E. Mauler and wife Pam of Hanover, PA and Faith K. Mauler of Westminster; great grandchildren Savanna and Corey; brother Timothy J. Mauler and wife Colleen of Centreville; 38 nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by sister Jean J. Walter and grandson Scott A. Mauler, Jr.
The family will welcome friends on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, MD. A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 11am at Church of the Open Door, 550 Baltimore Blvd, Westminster, MD. Interment with military honors will be at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forrest Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117, on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 2:30pm.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116.
