Edwin Harold Mauler, 87, passed away peacefully at home on October 16, 2025, in Great Bend, Kansas. He was born March 17, 1938, in rural Otis, to Herman & Cecilia (Garvert) Mauler.

Ed married Sharon K. Tammen on January 14, 1960, in Great Bend. He proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged as Sargent. He, with a partner, founded a bridge construction company, L and M Contractors in 1971. His partner retired in 1996, and he purchased his portion and continued to own and operate the business, serving as President of the company. He also enjoyed his time on the family farm and enjoyed working the ground and raising cattle until his retirement. He never stopped managing the farmland.

Ed was very active in the community, holding memberships with the VFW, American Legion, Chamber of Commerce, Stone Ridge country club, National Contractors Association, Barton Community College Cougar Booster Club, NFIB, Rotary club, Kansas State Alumni Association, and Panther Booster Club. He served on the board for the Kansas Contractors Association. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Edwin received a Quilt of Valor for his faithful service to our country.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 65 years, Sharon K. Mauler; sons, Curt E. Mauler and his wife Paula of Great Bend, Scott A. Mauler and his wife Kathy of Wichita; grandchildren, Sarah Maneth and her husband Jared of Great Bend, Jenna Mauler, Lauryn Mauler, Ashleigh Mauler, Quentin Mauler all of Wichita; great grandson, Colt Maneth; and sister, Elaine Crouse of Great Bend. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rosemary Mauler; and brother, Ralph Mauler.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 20, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Amirtharajan Duraisamy presiding. Burial will follow at Great Bend Cemetery with Fort Riley military honors. Visitation will be available from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 19, 2025, with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials have been designated to Barton Community College Foundation, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
