Bonnie Rosander Obituary

Bonedith "Bonnie" Ann Rosander, 71, of Belle Fourche passed away Peacefully in her sleep June 20th at home following a hard-fought battle with cancer. Bonnie was born January 17, 1954 and was adopted by Melvin and Rosemary (Tope) Seymour and spent her childhood growing up near Sorum, SD and going to country school. She attended 3 years of high school in Belle Fourche before transferring to Bison High School her senior year. She enjoyed rodeo competitions throughout her 4-H years. After high school she attended Black Hills State College. On July 16, 1976 Bonnie was united in marriage to the love of her life Brick Rosander. She followed Brick to Germany and Lawton, OK for his final years of service before being honorably discharged. Following his retirement from the Army Brick and Bonnie embarked onto their next journey of Boot and Saddle builders, returning to Belle Fourche to practice their new found trade. They took on a new adventure April 25, 1983 as they welcomed their son Ivan into their family. They moved to Lemmon, SD in 1985 to open B&B Saddlery. In 1988 they returned to Belle Fourche and continued their Saddlery Business. Following Bricks passing, Bonnie took a job working for the migrant program in the Belle Fourche School System. She really loved her years spent helping families navigate the school system. Upon retiring from the school district, she took a few part time jobs until she found her next passion which was being site manager of Meals on Wheels in Belle Fourche. Bonnie really shined at this new job where she got to cook and provide for her community in which she loved. While working 19 years cooking, she also spent her free time cooking and baking for all sorts of gatherings for friends and family. She was always ready to put a benefit together for anyone that was in need where she became well known for her desserts that brought a hefty price. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Brick Rosander; brother Randy Seymour; her father, Melvin Seymour; mother and father-in-law, Cleo and Dick Rosander and brother-in-law, Jon Rosander. She is survived by her son Ivan Rosander of Belle Fourche; mother, Rosemary Seymour of Spearfish; brother Shawn (Sherry) Seymour of Tensleep, WY; sisters, Sherry (Bob) Ewing of Spearfish and Rhonda (Bruce) Kvernevig of Aberdeen, SD; brothers-in-law Lane (Tina) of Washington and Tim (Terry) of California; sisters-in-law, D'Anna (Dean) Bittner of Belle Fourche and Sharon Rosander of Spearfish and numerous nieces and nephews.
