Benjamin Taylor Obituary

Benjamin Meredith Taylor
Born: March 26, 1947 in Olney, IL
Died: June 23, 2024 in Oswego, IL
Benjamin Meredith Taylor, age 77, of Oswego, IL, peacefully passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 23, 2024. He was born March 26, 1947 in Olney, IL, the son of LaFayette Marion Taylor and Margaret Lucille Jones Taylor.
Benjamin proudly served his country in the US Army as a trombonist with the 8th Army band in Korea. Music remained a centerpiece of his life, and he graduated from Elmhurst College in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Business. Benjamin was an avid fly-fisherman; his favorite spot being on the south branch of the AuSable River in Michigan. He was a man who appreciated the beauty of nature while birdwatching, fly-fishing or gazing at salt-water fish tanks. He had a keen eye for capturing moments with his camera, but above all he was a Proud Grandpa, who would move mountains for his Princess Athena.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years Eugenia Catherine Christopher Taylor, children Katherine Ann Taylor, Mathew Benjamin (Kasey) Huff-Taylor, granddaughter Athena Huff-Taylor, cousin Meredith Taylor, and grandpets Honey Bee, Honey Dew and Pazzo. He was preceded in death by his parents. All services will be private. Memorials in his honor may be made to Trout Unlimited at https://www.tu.org/. Arrangements are in the safe hands of DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543. For information: 630/554-3888 or www.dunnfamilyfuneralhome.com
