Born: June 1, 1949 in Dubuque, IA
Died: July 19, 2021 in Naperville, IL
Kay A. Engler, age 72, of Sugar Grove, IL, formerly of Yorkville, IL passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Season's Hospice in Naperville, IL. She was born on June 1, 1949 in Dubuque, IA the daughter of Francis "Ed" and Ruth (Schwab) Hart.
Kay was united in marriage on June 8, 1968 to Thomas D. Engler and they spent the next 53 years happily together and in retirement they traveled around the globe. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Oswego, IL. Kay was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Thomas D. Engler of Sugar Grove, IL; her daughter, Stacey (Chad) Sharp of North Liberty, IA; her son, Jacob (Jenna) Engler of Aurora, IL; her grandchildren, Dylan and Katelyn Sharp, and Brady, Colin, and Caleb Engler; her sister, Carolyn Sue (Joseph) Busko of Dubuque, IA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Ruth Hart; and her brother, William Hart.
She was a wife, She was a mother, She was a grandmother, She was Nana.
She was a daughter, She was a sister, She was a friend, She was a teacher.
She was happy, She was hopeful, She was thoughtful, She was strong.
She would listen, Fill your spirit, Lift your spirit, Lift your heart and sing your song.
She was music, She was caring, She was patient all along.
We shared her humor, shared her kindness, Shared her love, and then was gone.
Take comfort in the knowledge we had her all those years, and our memories will sustain us far beyond our current tears. Remember what she gave us; we will find no better friend, and she will stay a part of us, until we meet again.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego, IL with Father Dan Stempora officiating.
Friends may visit from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Friday, July 23, 2021 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 N. Bridge St., Yorkville, IL.
Memorials in Kay's name may be directed to Seasons Hospice, 2195 W. Diehl Rd., Naperville, IL 60563.
