Michael "Mick" Wooton, 78, of Yorkville passed away Friday, September 15, 2023 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 19, 1945 in Louisville, KY, the son of Malcolm B. and Ann M. (O'Rourke) Wooton, Jr. He married Sherry S. Eddingfield on November 16, 1968 in Aurora, IL. Mick was a proud Veteran serving in the US Army during Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, also a member of the Yorkville Legion and Teamsters Union 710 and 673.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry of Yorkville; His son, Michael (Linda) Wooton of Yorkville; proud grandfather of two granddaughters and two grandsons; his sisters, Sheila Hankes of IA and Cathy Gonzalez of CA; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Samantha Jo.
