William Curtis 'Curt' Johnson

Died: March 2, 2025
William Curtis "Curt" Johnson, age 82 of Yorkville, IL passed away peacefully at his winter home in Eustis, FL, on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
Curt was born in Chicago, IL on October 7, 1942, the son of William J. and Phyllis E. (Landeck) Johnson. He grew up there with his younger sister and brother, attending Morgan Park High School. He graduated in 1962 and attended Wilson Junior college. Afterwards, Mr. Johnson became a proud veteran of the United States Army. Beginning his career at Oak Brook Center, Curt was employed for many years as a stationary engineer in the HVAC industry. He worked his way up to eventually becoming a district manager.
Curt married Lois Ann Malinsky on April 15, 1967 and they spent the next 57 years happily together. They built a home and a life in Darien, IL. and had three daughters. The Lord was number One in his life and he and his young family worshiped at St. John's Lutheran church. Working for Urban Engineering, he was actively involved in opening Fox Valley Mall in Aurora, IL.
Always ready to try something new, Curt excitedly moved his family to a small farm in Yorkville, IL in 1983 to begin his newest hobby of raising a few cattle in the countryside. He was a long-time, active member of Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL.
Curt retired in 2005. He and Lois began traveling, especially enjoying world cruises. He particularly enjoyed river cruises in China and Europe.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Curt is survived by his wife, Lois Johnson of Yorkville, IL; his children, Debbie (Terry) Carter of Morris, IL, Keri (Shane) Blanton of Eustis, FL, and Wendy Hetzel of Yorkville, IL; his grandchildren, Brittany, Brandon (Kelsey), Laina (Tyler), Alexis, Zachary, Shaye, and Signey; his great-grandchildren, Addilyn, Jayse, Paisley, Barrett, Delainey, Joey and two more on the way; his siblings, Sandra Mallory of St. Louis, MO. and Dale (Kathy) Johnson of Tinley Park, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Phyllis Johnson.
Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Cross Lutheran Church, 8609 IL-47, Yorkville, IL 60560 and on Monday, March 10, 2025 from 9:00 AM until the Hour of Service at the church.
