Alan D. Dibble

1940 - 2012

Alan D. Dibble, 72, a resident of Kenosha, died Friday Dec. 28, 2012, at the Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.

Born on April 15, 1940, in Kenosha he was the son of the late Elmer and Elaine (Beth) Dibble.

Alan served in the U.S. Navy as a reservist from 1957 to 1960 and was on active duty as an Aviation Electronics Tech. from 1960 to 1963.

On Aug. 31, 1963, he married Sharon Fontaine at St. Peter Catholic Church in Kenosha.

For over thirty years Alan dedicated himself to Snap-On Tools Corporation working in marketing and advertising. After his retirement from Snap-On in 1995 he went to work as a consultant for RR Donnelly retiring in 2006.

Alan loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He was an exceptional woodworker and had a passion for cooking, gardening, boating and building model airplanes. Alan loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. On occasion you would find Alan cuttin a rug to one of his favorite country and western tunes, Boot Scootin Boogie.

Alan is survived by his beloved wife Sharon of Kenosha; one son Gregg (Francine) Dibble of Kenosha; two daughters; Diana (Scott) Tiedke of Parker, Colo., and Wendy (Erik) Larsen of Kenosha; seven grandchildren; Dustin and Kaylee Tiedke; Adam and Nicholas Larsen; David, Alex and Richard Dibble; three great grandchildren; Breauna, Brooke and Madison, and one brother James Dibble of Fort Meyers Fla. Alan is further survived by his longtime friend and trusted companion Hershee, his chocolate lab.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Elaine.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at 7 p.m. at the Kemper Center Founders Hall. (6501-3rd Avenue) Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday in Founders Hall from 5 p.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the Dibble Family would be appreciated.

Private burial will take place at All Saints Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
