Alexander Chopp Obituary

Alexander Jay Chopp

1992 - 2015

On June 10, 2015, Alexander Jay Chopp of DelrayBeach, Fla., formerly of Kenosha, passed away.

Alex was born to Penny Weyrauch-Garbutt and Jeffrey Chopp on Dec. 23, 1992. He attended local schools including Gateway Tech and The Salon Professional Academy-Cosmetology. Alex was only 22 years old but he left a deep and vibrant imprint on this world. He loved reading, writing and knitting; loved creating art, listening to music and watching cult films. He was extraordinary in so many ways. He was incredibly creative, intelligent andbeautiful. Alex received the President's award from Forest Park Elementary. His poetry was published in Young Authors while he attended Mahone Middle School and he received his diploma from Reuther High School in 2010. Alex had a profound impact on everyone he met. Many will miss his sassy sense of humor, poetic charm, cultural expertise, wild dance moves, contagious and distinct laughter (especially his snorts!) and the way he loved so boldly. This world has lost a precious and brilliant soul. Alex will not be alone as he has joined his Grandfathers Paul and Dan, Uncle Vince and Aunt Jenny. His memory will continue on in the hearts and souls of his Grandmothers Shirley and Judy, Parents Penny and George, Jeff and Mary, Aunts Jill, Mel, Joy, Gay, Lauri and Danielle, Uncles Paul, Greg and Tom, Sisters Sara, Danielle and Brenna, Brothers Jake and Colin, Nieces Calan and Sylvia, Nephew Therron, His many cousins from the Weyrauch and Chopp families and his many friends.

A tree planting memorial service is planned for Saturday, June 27, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Harbor Park.

Service information to follow.

The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen. Just listen. Perhaps the most important thing we ever give each other is our attention...a loving silence often has far more power to heal and to connect than the most well-intentioned words." -Rachel Naomi Remen
