Fredrick Zalewski Obituary
1939 - 2018
Fredrick D. Zalewski, 79, of Kenosha, passed away on Dec. 18, at Kenosha Hospital surrounded by his family.
Fred was born in Wausau Wis. on Sept. 4, 1939. He was the son of Irene and Ben Zalewski. Fred was educated in Mosinee, Wis.
Fred came to Kenosha for work at (then) American Motors as a machinist. He also worked at Holmes Manufacturing. After retiring from Holmes Manufacturing, he owned and operated the gun shop Eagle Trading Company before retiring completely in 2014.
In his own words, Fred "lived a life beyond his dreams and imagination." He had an early career in drag racing, was featured several times in Hot Rod Magazine, and was inducted into the Union Grove Dragway Hall of Fame. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gun collector, and avid story-teller.
Fred married Shirley Wysocki in 1960, and they had three children: Jeffrey, Jacqueline, and Yvonne. His son Jeffrey R. Zalewski preceded Fredrick in death. Fred is survived by his wife Shirley and daughters Jacqueline and Yvonne and their spouses Anteaus Rezba and Russell Stollenwerk and his siblings Dolores Kromka (Boonton N.J.), Kenneth Zalewski (Stevens Point Wis.), and Sally Bushman (Knoxville Tenn.). Fred is also survived by many nephews and nieces.

Fred was more than a friend to me, Shirley too. I grew up with their son Jeff and I knew his sisters well. Though I'm a long distance away they will always be in my thoughts. Always.

Dear Shirley and Family,
We were sorry to hear about the death of Fred. We remember visiting you and the family so long ago. It was even longer ago when I was watching him and Ken milking cows that Fred shared his dream of marrying the great girl from the area. We hope that you have many good memories of Fred. Dear Shirley and Family,
No matter how ill they might have been, it is always hard to lose a spouse. We were sorry to hear of the death of Fred. It was so long ago that we got to visit you in Kenosha. It was even longer ago when I visited Ken and Fred while they milked cows, and Fred told me about this great girl who he had plans to marry. We hope that you have many good memories of him.
