Nicholas "Nick" Mele

KENOSHA - Nick Mele, age 81, a resident of Kenosha, died Monday, November 20, 2023 at Froedtert South St. Catherines Medical Center.
Nick was born on August 17, 1942 the son of Ercole and Jennie Mele (Aceto) in Chicago IL. He was a graduate of Bradford High School.
On August 4, 1984 he married the love of his life Leone "Lee" Van Tine in Kenosha WI.
Nick was an avid golfer and bowled for many years in different leagues. When he was a young man, he achieved his black belt in karate.
He owned and operated Courtesy Auto Parts for many years, and was the manager of Auto Parts City for over 20 years. He more recently worked in maintenance at Walmart in Kenosha.
Nick is survived by his wife Leone "Lee"; his children: Danine (Todd) Hayes of CA, Michelle Knudson of AZ, Trish (Brad) Hall of MO, and Craig (Jen) Henricksen of Kenosha; nine grandchildren; a brother, Buzzy Bonacci of Kenosha; and a sister, Beanie Bonacci (Fred Vazir).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ercole and Jennie, and his son, David Mele.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 6:00 PM in the Bristol Room of the Parkway Chateau at the Brat Stop, 12304-75th Street. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday in the Bristol Room from 4:00 PM until the time of services at 6:00 PM. Inurnment will be at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated with charities to be determined later.

What a wonderful, caring and kind man. He was a great man, friend and boss. He will be missed and it was a pleasure to have worked alongside him. He will never be forgotten! Rest in peace Nick!
