Donna Haney

1955 - 2018

HANEY Donna E. Cook, 63, of Lexington, died August 5, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. The Lexington native was born March 30, 1955. She was the daughter of the late Harold Edward Cook of Bowling Green and Joyce Anderson Cook Hamilton of Lexington. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Darrell E. Cook. She is survived by her loving husband, Arthur "Perry" Haney of 45 years, who was her devoted caregiver and always by her side. Her two children, Michael E. Haney (Ann Settles), and Shannon E. (Ben) Clark; six grandchildren, Chase, Cameron, Colten, Grace, Raeleigh and Kaitlyn; two loving faithful Jackapoos, Roscoe and Lizzie that never left her side; daughter-in-law, Shannon Kara Haney; brothers, Dennis (B.C.) Cook of Birmingham, AL, Donald (Debbie) Cook of Bowling Green, KY, Monty (Tina) Hamilton of Lexington and Scott (Cherrie) Hamilton of Ft. Myers, FL; stepfather, Robert Hamilton and an aunt, Juanita Hill of Lexington; 19 nieces and nephews; 11 great nieces and nephews, two brother-in-laws, Kenny (Lynn) Haney of Atlanta, GA and Jimmy Haney; two sister-in-laws, Laura (Dan) Robbins of Senaca, SC and Paulette (Billy) Booth of Lexington. She was a faithful employee of the University of Kentucky. She retired in 2006, after 32 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She has a laugh and a smile that would light up any room. Her family was amazed and inspired by the bravery, dignity and positive attitude she maintained throughout the 12 years of her illness. They will cherish all the wonderful memories, silly, fun times, and will miss her greatly. All of the family would like to thank Bluegrass Hospice Care, University of Kentucky Dr.'s, Dr. Matthews, Dr. Buch and Dr. Lynne Jensen for the loving care and thoughtfulness they provided throughout Donna's illness. A memorial service will be held 12:30 pm on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Kerr Brothers Harrodsburg Road. Visitation will be from 10:30 am on Saturday until the time of service.
