Dorsey L. WEDDINGTON

WEDDINGTON Dorsey L, 94, widower of Dorothy Weddington, died Wed, July 25, 2012 at the VA Hospital. Born in Payton, KY, he was a son of the late Walter and Rosa Weddington. He was a retired Greyhound bus driver and was a Navy veteran. He was a member of Macedonia Christian Church and an elder for 19 years. He was a charter member of the 954 Lodge, a 32nd Degree Mason, in the Scottish Rite and member of Oleika Shrine. Survivors are three sons, Gary, Michael and Steve Weddington; five grandchildren, Gary Weddington II, Laura Castor, Crystal Weddington, Michael Weddington II and Ashlee Slepicka; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Edwin Stamper, Jerry and Dean Haney; and special friend and longtime companion, Helen Kitchen. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be 10am Mon at Macedonia Christian Church. Burial will be in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Terry Lacy, Perry Lacy, Gary Weddington, II, Nate Castor, and Steve Weddington, and Tyler Fields. Honorary pallbearers will be W.C. Hughes, Hubert Smith, Terry Wicker, and Reuben Kurtz. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Sun at the church. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main St. is in charge of arrangements.
