Ellen Baxter Obituary

BAXTER Ellen Perrine, 90, died on June 26, 2008. She was born in Mason Co, KY, the daughter of the late William M. and Ida Osborne Perrine. She held a MLS degree from the Univ. of KY, and retired from her alma mater in 1983 after 20 years of service as the Chemistry-Physics librarian. She also served as a teacher-librarian at Athens High School, the Army Map Service in Washington, D.C., Special Services librarian in Stuttgart, Germany and librarian at Lafayette Junior High School. She is survived by two sons, Tom (Trish) Baxter, Lexington and Rick (Clare) Baxter, St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Emily Baxter Stout (Colin), Lee "Mac" McGarvey Baxter, and Stephen Thomas Baxter. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her five brothers and two sisters. She was a member of Central Christian Church. Funeral services officiated by Reverend Jack Morris and Reverend Nathan Head, Mon, June 30, 2008, 1:30pm at Milward Funeral Directors-Southland. Burial in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation Sun, 4-6pm and Mon at 12:30pm. Special donations in lieu of flowers to Hospice of the Bluegrass, St. Joseph Hospital, One St. Joseph Dr., Lexington, KY. 40504. www.milwardfuneral.com
