Grey Tate Obituary

TATE (Willie) Grey Benson, 86, of Lexington, formerly of Rochester, NY died Tue, June 24, 2008 at her home at Richmond Place. Born in Fulton, AL to the late Alpheus and Roberta Clarke Benson, she was a graduate of The University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. Grey was a devoted member and Elder of Second Presbyterian Church in Lexington, KY, and worked with "Helping Hands". She was the widow of the late Charles Draper Tate and is survived by her sons; Benson Lee (Grace) Miller of Lexington and James Clayton (April) Miller of Nicholasville, four grandchildren; Chadwick Benson Miller, Lexington, Catherine- Grey Miller Willie, Lexington, and Mark Clayton Miller, Lexington, and Sandra Ann Miller Garrison of Bowling Green, and the mother of Mark and Sandra, Erica Madder Miller. Two sisters Alice (James) Taylor, Lexington and Roberta Chevillon, San Antonio, TX and five great grandchildren also survive. A brother, Elwis Bertram Benson and a sister, Eula Victoria Martin, preceded her in death. A memorial service will be in Lexington 1pm, July 13th at Second Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be 5-8pm, July 12th at Kerr Brothers-E. Main Street. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr, Lexington, KY 40504, Primate Rescue Center 2515 Bethel Rd, Nicholasville, KY 40356, or Second Presbyterian Church 460 E. Main, Lexington, KY 40507
