Kenneth Ross Obituary

Kenneth Ross
March 14, 1945 - February 10, 2021
Lexington, Kentucky - On Wednesday, February 10th, 2021, Kenneth Thomas Ross, passed away at age 75.
Ken was born on March 14th, 1945 in Hattiesburg, MS to Thomas and Mary Josephine Ross. He served four years in the US Air Force, stationed in Turkey. On August 10th, 1974 he married Mary Jarvis, raising one son, Aaron Ross.
Ken had a passion for helping others. He spent close to 40 years' work for LFUCG Park and Recreation department serving the Lexington community. His passion to serve extended into his work with St. Peter's Church, working with new Catholics as they joined the church through Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.
Ken was an enthusiastic music fan, always sharing new albums and recommendations for friends and family. He was a lover of animals, adopting animals in need and making sure the neighborhood birds and rabbits had food.
Ken will be best remembered for his kind heart. He was a sweet man who welcomed engaging conversations, learning about the joys in others' lives, and being a thoughtful listener to anyone who needed support. Ken was always putting the needs of his family and friends before his own.
Ken is survived by his son Aaron (Emily), two beautiful granddaughters, and his brother Jon Ross.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Ken was an avid supporter of many causes and those wishing to commemorate him are asked to do so in his honor to the Lexington Humane Society, Save the Children, and Southern Poverty Law Center.
