Luke Schuler

1988 - 2016

SCHULER Luke Andrew, son of James M. Schuler and Donna K. Schuler, passed away on December 9th 2016. Luke's life would seem too short to many, but those who knew him would understand that the quality of the time we shared far exceeds the quantity of time he was with us. His big heart and kind soul were contagious to all he met. Luke was born in Lexington, Kentucky on June 15, 1988. He graduated from Lexington Catholic High School. Luke worked for the family company, Schuler Hardwood Flooring. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, singing and playing his guitar as well as hanging out with his family and playing with his niece and nephews. He could light up a room with his wonderful spirit and soft, warm smile. His greatest accomplishment was his recent completion of the Appalachian Trail, 2,189 miles from Georgia to Maine. Luke is survived by his parents, James Michael Schuler and Donna Kaelin Schuler, his two siblings, Anna Schuler Barber (Collin), and James Nicholas Schuler (Natalie) and his niece, Riley and nephews, Evan and Colton. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-8pm on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Rd. The funeral service will be held at 11am on December 12, 2016 at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosery Catholic Church, 2501 Clays Mill Rd. with Father Norman Fischer officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Shepherds House, 154 Bonnie Brae Dr., Lexington, KY 40508.
