Mae Demos Obituary

DEMOS Mae, 93, native of Louisville, passed away Dec 9, 2013. Graduated from Louisville Girls High in 1938. During WWII she was employed by the Selective Service Draft Board in Louisville. She was an avid golfer in the Ladies League at Picadome C.C. From 1979-2003 she accumulated 28,434 volunteer hours for the Central Baptist Hospital Auxiliary. Preceded in death by her parents Panayiota and George Gianacakes, brothers William and Gus Gianacakes. Survived by her son, Jon S. Demos, M.D. (Ellen), daughter Elizabeth Nelson (Sam); grandchildren Kelly Nelson Rowe (Evan), Clay Nelson (Leila), Alexander and Katharine Demos; great-grand-children Kacy, Abigail, and Jackson Rowe. A brother, Tom Gianacakes and many nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions are suggested to Baptist Health Auxiliary, 2100 Nicholasville Rd., Lexington, KY 40503. www.carecremationservices.com

Tootsie, Jon and family,

Our family wishes to extend our deepest sympathies on the passing of Aunt Masie. There is comfort in knowing she is now wrapped in the warmth of God's arms and together again with her family and friends who have gone before her. What a gathering it is !!

Aunt Mae was definitely a "one of a kind" lady who did good things with her life. She will always be remembered by all of us who knew her. She is now reunited with family/friends who have gone before us. May her memory be eternal.
