Marjorie Trapp

TRAPP Marjorie Taylor, 89, Lexington, wife of Claude Wheeler Trapp, passed away February 23, 2015. She was born in Cynthiana on August 14, 1925 to the late John T. Taylor and Hattie Jameson Taylor. She was a member of Meadowthorpe Presbyterian Church. A graduate of Cynthiana High School, she attended Sullins College in Bristol, VA. She graduated from the University of Kentucky. Marjorie began her career in the continuity departments of radio stations in Lexington and Houston, TX and also was a real estate agent. She was first and foremost a wife and mother. Former vice-president of Metropolitan Woman's Club and former member of: Lexington Woman's Club, Cotillion Club of Lexington, and Spindletop Hall. The United Cerebral Palsy of the Blue Grass named her outstanding volunteer for the period of 1958-1968. She also delivered Meals on Wheels. Preceded in death by son John "Tee" Trapp. Besides her husband of 61 years, she is survived by: daughter Frances (Steve) Rodgers; grandchildren, Shawn Trapp, San Ramon, CA and Jacob Shaub, Jesse Shaub, and Taylor Ann Trapp, Lexington.; step-grandchildren, Jimbo (Abby) Rodgers and Theodore (Caroline) Rodgers, Lexington; sister Frances Fishback, Louisville; and sister-in-law Josephine Hartfield, Roanoke, VA. Memorial service Saturday, February 28th at 1pm with two hours visitation prior, at Milward-Broadway. Memorial donations may be made to the Bellewood Home for Children. www.milwardfuneral.com
