Michael Sharp

SHARP Sgt. Michael Stephen "Sarge", 59, husband of 40 years to Ann Elizabeth "Libby" Sharp, died Sun, Sep 16, 2012 at Central Baptist Hospital. Born May 22, 1953 in Lexington, KY, he was the son of Dolores Sharp White and step-father Carl White of Lexington and the late Joseph Sharp. He attended Eastern Kentucky University and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Sarge served over 35 years with the Lexington Metro Police Department serving in multiple positions including burglary, homicide, narcotics, robbery, special investigations and patrol. He was an active member of the F.O.P. Survivors other than his wife, mother, and step-father include his children: son, Michael S. (Maria) Sharp, Lexington, KY; daughter, Shannon (Randal) Christopher, Georgetown, KY; five grandchildren, Michael Sharp III, Dylan Sharp, Wil Christopher, Abygail Christopher, and Jacob Sharp; one brother, Mark Sharp; one sister, Lesa Stewart, both of Lexington, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11am Fri at Immanuel Baptist Church by Pastor Tommy Howard, Chaplain Donovan Stewart, and Rev. Terry Freeman. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-9pm Thu and 9-11am Fri at Immanuel Baptist Church with services at 11am. Fri.
