Michael Wiggins

WINCHESTER - Michael G. Wiggins, 59, of Winchester, passed away Friday at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. A native of Lexington, he was born October 23, 1954, to Carolyn Williams Wiggins and the late Donald C. Wiggins, Jr. He was the grandson of the late Howard Griffith Williams and Dorothy Day Williams and Donald C. Wiggins and Catherine Robb Wiggins. Michael lived his life in Winchester where he was a member of the First Christian Church, graduate of George Rogers Clark High School and Western KY University. He was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America and a member of the Scout Troop 75 at the First United Methodist Church where he earned his Eagle Scout Award. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing at Cave Run Lake. He began his career in real estate in Bowling Green, KY., after college. He later moved to Lexington to work with his uncle at his real estate business. At his death, he owned Mike Wiggins Realty in Lexington and was a member of the Lexington Board of Realtors. Other survivors include brother, James Graham Wiggins, sister, Catherine Day Wiggins Witz, Aunt, Nancy Wiggins, Uncles, John Howard Williams and James Anderson Williams, nephews, Matthew Graham Wiggins, and Richard Isaac Witz, great-nieces, Kylie Alexis Wiggins, and Autumn Rhianna Wiggins. He was preceded in death by one brother, William Renick Wiggins. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 7th, at 11:30am at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St., with Rev. Jerry Johns and Rev. John Howard Williams presiding. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-7pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery.
