Quentin Bryson Obituary

Quentin Everett Bryson

January 11, 2002 - December 17, 2023

Lexington, Kentucky - Twenty-two years ago, we were blessed with our child of promise. Quentin Everett Bryson was born on January 11, 2002. He was named Quentin so that he forever carried into the world that he was our fifth son. It is with a shattered heart that we grieve the passing of our beloved Quentin who left us in the wee hours of December 17, 2023.

At the time of his passing, he was a senior, majoring in Professional Theatre at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC. Due to circumstances beyond our understanding and control, Quentin's absence has left behind lifelong memories in the hearts and minds of those who loved and befriended him. He was a proud 2020 graduate of Carter G. Woodson Academy in Lexington, KY and started his acting career at the University of Kentucky with a starring role in "Black Lives Matter: 1619 to Now." While at NCAT, he performed roles in "Othello," "Dreamgirls," "Baltimore," and "The Life and Times of Fannie Lou Hamer." In his first year at NCAT, he was awarded the Winona Fletcher Award for Excellence in Characterization. In November 2023, Quentin was inducted into Alpha Psi Omega the National Theater Honor Society. He was such a bright force of nature in this world. Smart. Funny. Hard working. Faithful. Talented. His smile was contagious.

He was the son of Dr. L. Sebastian and Tina Bryson of Lexington, KY. He was a loving brother to Ellis, Jordan, and Sydney Bryson. We are heartbroken by this immeasurable loss. Quentin also leaves to mourn his passing many family members and dear friends. Among those are his grandmother, Avis Travers; uncle, Sidney Bryson (Karnella); uncle, Jeff Travers; aunt, Ramona Galbreath (Jeffeory); godparents, Jeff and Nicole Barnett; and cousins, Jared and Kevin Bryson; Jessica and Joshua Galbreath; Lequita and Jeffery Travers Jr., and Kaneisha Watkins.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations by CashApp to $tvbryson or mail donations to 2469 Ogden Way, Lexington, KY 40509 to establish the Quentin Bryson Memorial Scholarship Fund to benefit students with BMW/Carter G. Woodson Academy and a student pursuing a degree in the arts at NCAT. Thank you for your support and prayers for our family.

My heart goes out to Seth, Tina and Quentin's siblings as they mourn his passing. I didn't know him personally like I did his parents but sadden to hear he's no longer with us as I continue to pray for the family and friends who knew Quentin. May your hearts be comforted with GOD'S loving care.
A friend of the family.

I remember Quentin as a sweet little guy dressed in his suit and attending church at Albany Baptist. I am so sorry for this great loss. Such a beautiful life gone to serve and rejoice in Heaven along with his baby brothers. Love & prayers, Linda Cox Crum.
