Ruby Haggard Dick

SCIENCE HILL - Ruby Haggard Dick, 89, died Wed., April 13, 2005 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Born Nov. 22, 1915, in Pulaski County, she was a daughter of the late Alphonso and Lunda Randolph Haggard. She was co-founder of Carl Dick General Merchandise in Science Hill, KY and enjoyed gardening and visiting with her many neighbors and friends who meant so much to her. She was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include a son, Russell and (Hazel) Dick, Science Hill; a daughter, Margie A. and (Earl David) Holt, Copperas Cove, TX; two grandsons, James Russell Dick, Science Hill and Brian Darrell Holt, Copperas Cove, TX; three brothers-in-law, Charlie Gaddis, Science Hill, John H. Dick, Oak Harbor, OH and Everett & (Pauline) Dick, Somerset; a sister-in-law, Ruth Dick, Science Hill; and a special friend, Judy Hancock, Science Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Dick, who died Nov. 1, 1998; her parents; a brother, Tony Haggard; four sisters, Hazel Gaddis, Neatie Dick, Beatrice Haggard and LaFern Haggard. Funeral services will be 2 pm Sun., April 17, at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill, with Bros. Ed Massey and Bob Hoots officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
